ABOUT NEMCON
Assembly #127 was first charted on October 10, 1976, consisting of 25 members who elected Tom Prete as the assembly's first President. The assembly met in Tom's magic shop, Magic Arts Store, located in Wallingford, CT. In 1983, the assembly voted to change the club's name to the Tom Prete Assembly #127 in honor of its founder and first president.
The first New England Magicians Conference (NEMCON) was sponsored by the Assembly #127 in 1982 with performers George Schindler, Danny Tong, Paul Fusco and Hank Morehouse. In 1984, NEMCON honored Chet Karkut as its first honoree, a tradition that continues today.
Tom Prete was honored at NEMCON in 1988 for his service to the magic community. He served as NEMCON chairman several times and was the conference chairman at the time of his death in 2007.

In 2009, the New England Magicians Conference was incorporated as a 501c(3) organization whose purpose is to conduct conferences, forums, panels, lectures and similar programs for instruction and training in the art and performance of magic. Bill Hoagland is the current chairman.
